Together, we’ll roll up our sleeves, get salty and do our best to protect what we love.

CONSERVATION TOURS

Join one of our eco-tours and help support local conservation projects here in the Mexican Caribbean. The funds generated from our sustainable eco tours are used to support ongoing research on endangered animals, including the whale shark and the sea turtle. Come with us on a wildlife adventure and be part of the solution!

WORKSHOPS

Our marine biology workshops for schools teach kids to learn and respect the marine environment and the surrounding nature. These workshops provide an opportunity to see animals and ecosystems in the wild. By closely observing the species within the marine environment itself, children will feel more connected to their environment, and consequently will want to help conserve it.

We love the sea

We Love the Sea Scholarship Programs

We Love the Sea is particularly passionate about working with youth from under-resourced coastal communities. For many people in the community the sea is misunderstood and feared rather than respected and loved, even though the sea is located on their doorstep, many of the residents have little to no real experience beyond the beach.

In order to create stronger connections between the local community and the sea we have created the Marine Ambassadors Scholarship Program. The program is available to children from the local community who are passionate about learning more about the ocean. Our scholarships are fully funded through our eco-tours and marine biology courses. We also offer the opportunity to sponsor a child from the community to take part in our scholarships, if this is something you wish to help with please get in touch!

Wonderful Experience Angela Warrior has been "Ocean Angel" since we met her through her weekly "We Love the Sea" Marine Biology adult snorkeling events (check these out too!). She is so passionate about all things marine and this rubs off on everyone she meets. We utilized Angela to arrange for our Akumal Turtle experience, and she joined us along with her local partner Kari to assist us in ensuring our turtle swim was the best possible. As usual, Angela educated us on the turtles prior to getting in the water. Once in the water Angela and Kari made sure we did get maximum turtle exposure while still providing us with minimal crowd exposure (it can get busy with other swimmers!). We loved all aspects of this tour, and would recommend Angela and Kari for anyone looking for a Snorkel experience.

Informative and fun! Angela was a fantastic host for me and my two kiddos. It was their first snorkeling experience, and they had a challenge ahead of them as the winds were pretty strong the day of our adventure. However, Angela assured me they could hold on to a ring for support, and that she'd take them in at any point if they were too tired to continue. Luckily, they were troopers and finished the whole swim. Angela started with a little talk on the beach about sea turtles, and the species of animals we were likely to see. Despite the wind conditions making visibility less than ideal, we saw 6 turtles, 2 stingrays, an eagle ray and lots of fish! It was an unforgettable experience and I highly recommend Angela as a guide. She is very informative, kind, and a true steward for our oceans. Happy to support her non-profit. Thank you, Angela!

Much more than your typical snorkeling experience Our snorkeling tour began under the shade of a coconut tree on the beach with Angela providing an interesting talk on the various species we might encounter. Angela is a marine biologist with years of research experience; is very knowledgeable and we thoroughly enjoyed the talk. She is friendly and lively which made our tour lots of fun. She had an assistant snorkeling guide who swam with us, who was usually the first to spot the turtles and stingrays and other species we saw. Her assistant also carried a tow line with a floating ring in case anyone got tired in which case they could be pulled. She used hand gestures under water to signal the various species. This was much more than your typical snorkeling outing and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

Amazing, personalized family adventure! My family (2 adults and our 9 year old daughter) just returned from a lovely vacation to Playa del Carmen. While planning our trip, I knew we had limited time so I was looking for a tour that would allow us to see several of our “must-do’s” in one day. We wanted to see ruins, a cenote, and snorkel with sea turtles in Akumal. As an animal-loving family, we always struggle quite a bit with animal tourism. We want to observe animals in their natural habitat without causing harm to them. Finding Angie was such a blessing because she is passionate about respecting the turtles’ space, going in small groups, and not getting too close to them. She is also so knowledgeable about marine life, and she is super friendly and personable. From my first message to her and all the way to the day of the tour, Angie provided excellent communication and she was quick to respond to my questions. She made all the arrangements for our perfect day in Mexico. She picked us up at our hotel and took us to the Tulum ruins (along with a wonderful Mayan guide). Then she took us to Cenote Sac Atun (cave), which was truly an amazing experience! After a yummy lunch at a local restaurant , we were given a private snorkel tour of Sac Atun by a local guide. Snorkeling in crystal clear water, among all these amazing formations, was unlike anything we’ve ever done! Then, last but definitely not least, Angie took us to Akumal. She gave us a little lesson on the beach about some of the sea creatures we might see. Then into the water we went! Angie and her guide partner, Kary, were a great team— we felt very safe the whole time, even with our daughter being a new snorkeler. They even pulled along a life preserver for our daughter to hold onto if she needed a little rest! With their help, we observed green turtles, a starfish, stingrays, and lots of pretty fish! After our fabulous day, Angie drove us back to our hotel in Playa Del Carmen. I’m so grateful we found Angie! During our day, we saw tons of giant tour groups being herded from place to place, struggling to hear their guide and see over each other. In contrast, our day with Angie felt relaxed and we learned so much. We loved being able to ask questions and have real conversations about the work Angie and her colleagues are doing to protect marine life. I would recommend Angie to anyone visiting this area of Mexico, especially those interested in learning how we can help protect the sea creatures we are there to see.

Highly recommend!! Angela is the best! Angela is amazing! She is super passionate about marine life and it shows in everything she does. She communicated super fast and made sure every detail was arranged and was thorough in everything she did. It was really important to us to support someone who cares for the environment and the marine life as we wanted to respect that we were visiting their home. There were lots of other groups that seemed to be more focused on getting as many people in and out quickly which was sad to see. Her guide Kary was wonderful as well. She was very calm and skilled at directing us to a variety of turtles and fish and rays while we were out so we were able to see so many cool things. She also has a clear respect and passion for the ocean and sea life and we felt really comfortable with her guiding us. My kids were a bit apprehensive when we actually got into the water but Angela and Kary both were so great with them. Angela had prepped us before in case things didn’t go as planned with them and she clearly has lots of experience with kids and families and that made everything so much easier! My kids absolutely loved her and she was so engaging that we all had such a wonderful experience. It was really comforting to know that we were with a group that genuinely wanted to make sure we had a great time and left more knowledgeable rather than just being another number in a group. All that to say that I would 100% recommend Angela and her group to anyone who wants a personalized and memorable experience!! She is the absolute best and sweetest person ever and great experience for anyone and especially for families!

Amazing time! Angela, and our snorkeling tour was the highlight of our trip to playa del Carmen this winter. We went with my husband and two kids ages 6 and 7. She was extremely patient with the girls and her biodiversity lesson on the beach before the actual snorkeling tour was a special treat to learn about all the sea life and the ecosystem and how our daily actions affect this biodiversity environment Since it was the girls first snorkeling tour they got tired and midway Angela offered to take them back to the beach while my husband and I continued with her guide who was helpful and pointed us to see all kinds of things including big turtles, squid, stingrays, other tropical fish, etc. This was definitely a highlight of our trip and I highly recommend Angela when visiting the turtle sanctuary!

Amazing Day with Angela in Mexico! Our tour with Angela was a highlight of our family vacation! Angela was exceptional in every way. Right from the start, she impressed us with her punctuality, picking us up exactly on time, which set a great tone for the day. She was thoughtful with snacks & drinks for the drive, and shared captivating stories and ocean knowledge. Her passion was infectious and added an educational twist to our adventure. Our itinerary was superbly planned. We explored Mayan ruins, enjoyed a delicious lunch in the jungle, swam in a cenote in a cave (so cool!), and snorkeled with turtles, an experience that left us all in awe. The entire day was fabulous, but what truly made it special was Angela’s enthusiasm and expertise. Our kids said the tour was the best part of our vacation, and we wholeheartedly agree! If you’re planning a tour in the area, we cannot recommend her enough!

Won’t find a better way of experiencing turtles with your kids! Swimming with turtles alongside Angela was an incredible experience that exceeded all expectations. Her profound insight into environmental issues concerning sea turtles and marine species added depth to the adventure. The small group setting allowed for an intimate and mindful encounter with the sea turtles, and other sea animals. It truly felt like a dream come true, and Angela's guidance made the experience exceptional. I couldn't have imagined a better constellation for this unforgettable moment.

Great snorkeling trip with young kids Angela was a fantastic guide for our family. We have kids ranging in age from 10 to 2 and were not confident that snorkeling was going to go very well, but Angela did a great job of catering to different ages -- teaching the older ones about the different animals we were going to see and showing pictures to the younger ones. She arranged to have a guide, Carry, join us, and the extra pair of hands definitely came in handy. The younger ones ended up heading back about halfway through the route, and Angela brought them back to shore and gave them snacks that she brought. Angela was super communicative when planning the excursion and gave us a bunch of options for where to go. She was also proactive in making sure we ended up going on a warm, calm day. Overall she clearly has lots of experience working with families, and if you're a little nervous about going snorkeling with your family, I'd highly recommend Angela. She will make you feel at ease and ensure everyone has a good time, even toddlers!
