We Love the Sea Scholarship Programs

We Love the Sea is particularly passionate about working with youth from under-resourced coastal communities. For many people in the community the sea is misunderstood and feared rather than respected and loved, even though the sea is located on their doorstep, many of the residents have little to no real experience beyond the beach.

In order to create stronger connections between the local community and the sea we have created the Marine Ambassadors Scholarship Program. The program is available to children from the local community who are passionate about learning more about the ocean.

Our scholarships are fully funded through our eco-tours and marine biology courses. We allocate a portion of our profits for community education programs. We partner with schools from under-resourced communities with the aim to identify and select children who show an interest in marine biology related fields but may lack the financial means to participate in such activities.

STRUCTURED PROGRAM

A structured program is designed to include marine biology activities, workshops, field trips, and hands-on experiences. The funds generated from eco tour fees are then used to cover the costs associated with these educational opportunities. This may include transportation, materials, guides, entry fees to marine reserves, and other logistical expenses.

the marine biology activities

The marine biology activities are tailored not only to educate the children about marine ecosystems but also to develop their scientific and environmental awareness. Practical experiences, such as snorkeling, tide pool exploration, or wildlife observation, contribute to skill development and foster a passion for marine sciences. The goal is to create a sustainable impact by inspiring children from under-resourced communities to pursue education and careers in marine biology or related fields. This can contribute to building local expertise and fostering a sense of environmental stewardship within these communities.

By integrating philanthropic efforts into eco tourism, businesses can not only contribute to the preservation of natural environments but also provide opportunities for education and skill development among underprivileged youth, fostering a sense of environmental awareness and responsibility. If you are a business owner or someone interested in sponsoring a child to take part in our courses and activities please get in touch today!
